Is it really possible to draw a line between living and dead food? Food goes through various stages of life through different food-processing methods, this spectrum of living activities transcends the binary opposition of living and dead. Food Symphony is an immersive sensorial experience that provides a new possibility in understanding alimentary bioavailability. By sonifying spectral data collected through molecular spectroscopy, infrared imaging and analytical chemistry, Food Symphony reveals the internal life of food. The data will be re-interpreted into sound to reveal bioavailability in the specific food object, not in a burst of ephemeral sensations, but a consistent, music-like experience.
